Ten Minute Dough


Step One
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups luke warm water
  • 1 tbsp. sugar(*)
  • 2 tbsp. active dry yeast
Step Two
  • 3 cups flour
  • ½ cup oil
  • 1 tsp. salt

Note: The original recipe called for ¼ cup sugar, but I found it too sweet for savory fillings.


  1. In a large bowl combine the step one ingredients (flour, yeast, sugar and water). Mix well, cover and let it rise in a warm place for 10 minutes.

  2. After ten minutes, add the step two ingredients (oil, remaining flour and salt) and knead well until you get a soft dough.

  3. The dough is now ready to be used for pizza, sfeeha, lahm bi ajeen; the list is endless.
