Breads and Pastries
3 cups white sesame seeds, toasted
1½ cups icing sugar
½ cup water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. orange blossom water OR vanilla
In a sauce pan, mix the water, sugar, lemon juice and orange blossom water or vanilla. Bring to a boil and let it simmer until the syrup becomes light golden then stir in the sesame seeds.
Spread the mixture onto a lightly greased or parchment lined baking sheet until it is cool.
Cut into squares or diamond shapes and serve.
