Sesame Brittle


  • 3 cups white sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1½ cups icing sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. orange blossom water OR vanilla


  1. In a sauce pan, mix the water, sugar, lemon juice and orange blossom water or vanilla.  Bring to a boil and let it simmer until the syrup becomes light golden then stir in the sesame seeds.

  2. Spread the mixture onto a lightly greased or parchment lined baking sheet until it is cool. 

  3. Cut into squares or diamond shapes and serve.
