Green Beans in Tomato Sauce


  • 2.2 lb green beans, cut to 1" pieces
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 lb fresh tomatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • Lemon juice, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste


  1. In a sauce pan, heat 1 tbsp. of olive oil and sautee the onions until soft. 
  2. Stir in the green beans and garlic.  Cook on low heat for 5 - 10 minutes.

  3. Add the chopped tomatoes, salt and black pepper and continue to cook on low heat until the beans are tender. 

  4. Add lemon juice and serve hot or cold with pita bread.
