Granola Bars


Ingredients

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • ¾ cup wheat germ
  • ¼ cup flaxseed
  • ¼ cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup slivered almonds
  • 1¾ cups dried fruits
  • ½ cup honey
  • ¾ cup chunky peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp. brown sugar or maple syrup
  • Pinch of salt

Directions

  1. Line a 9 x 13" baking dish with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350° F.

  2. Spread the oats, wheat germ, flaxseed, sesame seeds and almonds on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 12 - 15 minutes stirring every few minutes.

  3. In the meantime, combine the peanut butter, honey, brown sugar and salt and cook on medium heat until well combined.

  4. Once the oat mixture is toasted, reduce the oven temperature to 300° F, remove it from the oven and immediately mix with the honey mixture, add the dried fruits and stir to combine.

  5. Turn the mixture onto the prepared baking dish and press down, evenly distributing the mixture in the dish.

  6. Return to the oven and bake at 300° F for 40 minutes.

  7. Remove from the oven, allow to cool completely and cut into bars.
