Fava Bean Rice, أرز بالفول Servings: 2 - 4

Fava Bean Rice


  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 cup fava beans (skins removed)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tbsp. dill
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp. canola oil


  1. Soak the rice for 20-30 minutes in hot water, then rinse well and drain.

  2. In a medium saucepan, heat oil and sweat the onions.

  3. Stir in the rice and beans and keep stirring for a few minutes.

  4. Add the water, salt and dill and bring to a boil.

  5. Let the water reduce to below the rice level then lower heat and simmer until rice and beans are done.

  6. Serve with grilled meat or chicken.
